On Monday Feb. 13, incoming Board Chair Tara Hernandez unveiled a new GNO, Inc. initiative, GNO AMP, which stands for Greater New Orleans Advanced Manufacturing Partnership.
This partnership will focus on three areas, including advanced manufacturing, value-added manufacturing and makers spaces.
Advanced manufacturing utilizes technology to improve efficiencies and products, while value-added manufacturing involves processing and improving raw products for distribution. Lastly, makers spaces are the schools and facilities that help to ensure a trained workforce and create a space for individuals and companies to use cutting-edge equipment that they may not be able to access otherwise.
