Quentin Messer, president/CEO of New Orleans Business Alliance, discusses a “championship economy.” Just as the Saints develop a championship team, economic success relies on a diversified and qualified workforce.
New Orleans has nine universities and two medical schools. While we draw millennials, many pursue their careers elsewhere. To be a “championship economy,” we must attract new businesses and develop our own.
One nonprofit is doing its part. unCommon Construction gives students building experience while underscoring work ethic.
Messer says, “Undeniably, the talent is here; the only question is our collective commitment to … develop the talent of every New Orleanian…”
