Chalmette Refining was named the fourth most generous company by United Way (UW) of Southeast Louisiana for raising over $413,000 during its 2018-19 employee campaign.
The campaign kicked off in May 2018 with an inaugural fishing rodeo that made $37,000 in proceeds. The fishing rodeo was followed by an employee payroll campaign, day of service at Val Riess Park in Chalmette, an ice cream social to meet United Way agencies, an auction, a corporate donation and a jambalaya cook-off.
The year culminated with the third annual golf tournament, the Chalmette Classic, which brought in $162,000.
