Growing pains

by The 100 Companies
collaborative areas

For 10 years, we were snug as a bug in our 1,000 square foot open office nestled above a coffee shop in Old Metairie. With 13 staff jockeying for the prime desks, we pretty much knew everything about everyone.

Now on Ridgelake Drive, with more than triple the space, private offices occupying two floors, and a conference center, some occasionally yearn for the past coziness. What to do?

Collaborative areas allow us to reclaim the camaraderie underlying our company culture, preserving the congeniality that has supported our success. Segregated spaces enhance productivity; “collab” areas preserve passion.  Definitely a balancing act.
