Every year, Chalmette Refining hosts high school and college students and teachers onsite for Energy Camps. The camps are tailored to individual school schedules and grade levels to inform participants on types of careers available at a refinery.
Participants are also given a tour of the facility, which includes the facility’s lab and the fan favorite, the firehouse. The refinery has hosted students from Chalmette, Karr and Mount Carmel High Schools along with students from Nunez Community College and Tulane, to name a few.
