“In the Red:” NOLA Women Advocate for Equal Pay

by The 100 Companies

While college graduation rates for women have increased from 14 to 40%, women are still “in the red” when it comes to receiving equal pay. In fact, Louisiana women typically make 68 cents per dollar earned by the average man.

The local chapter of American Business Women’s Association, FestiGals and the New Orleans Chamber are teaming up to shed light on this issue.

National Equal Pay Day is Tuesday, April 4. To inspire local women, these organizations have put together a program at The Cannery with keynote speaker, State Representative Helena Moreno. For more information on the event, click here.
