Spring weather projections

by

Believe it or not, this winter ended up being drier and warmer than average. Despite the ice, frost and even snow that fell in January, Louisiana had a warm winter because our February temperatures were 10 degrees higher than normal. We also had less precipitation in February than in most years.

Looking ahead to spring, Louisiana’s warm, dry streak is estimated to continue with hotter temperatures, especially in both April and May. March is predicted to be a relatively normal month in terms of both rainfall and temperature, but as summer nears, the temperature and precipitation rates will rise accordingly.
