During the holidays, a friend mentioned that rather than the traditional red and green, I still donned my signature neutral wardrobe. “Nothing says Christmas like gray, black and beige,” he sarcastically teased.
What may seem un-festive on the outside, I countered, does not reflect my inner creativity. In fact, I pride myself on being bold with my thoughts, fierce in their execution and passionate in my commitment. I would rather people look beyond the exterior and respect me for more serious attributes.
Who knows? My neutral classics may actually serve as a decoy to the surprises that lie inside.
