At a recent Jefferson Chamber forum, five regional mayors shared their challenges and priorities. As river/lake/gulf-infused communities, a common connection was living with water. And as smallish towns positioned amidst the backdrop of the crime concerns of New Orleans, the mayors touted safety as an important appeal.
When asked what they valued most, the mayors wholeheartedly agreed that their most treasured asset is relationships: with constituents, political leaders, businesses, influencers and friends.
They acknowledged that it is these local, regional and national partnerships, stewarded over the years, that allow them to be their best while shaping remarkable and resilient communities.
