2016 marked the 130th anniversary of the historic Hotel Monteleone, known by locals and visitors as the gateway to the French Quarter.
As one of three hotels designated a US Literary Landmark by United for Libraries, it has hosted the likes of William Faulkner and Tennessee Williams. This summer, the Hotel Monteleone will launch Phillip Collier’s new book, New Orleans’ Literary Landmark: The Hotel Monteleone.
The book chronicles the famed works of many renowned authors who have used the hotel as a literary backdrop. The Hotel Monteleone has been a classic New Orleans literary setting since the early 20th century.
