River of Faith: A Gift To New Orleans

See how you can become more involved in the Clarion Herald’s Tricentennial gift here.

Thirty-six years after René-Robert Cavelier de La Salle planted the cross of Christian faith at the mouth of the Mississippi River – claiming the Louisiana Territory for France – New Orleans was born in 1718.

Read how America’s second-oldest Catholic diocese withstood the challenges of living under three flags to influence and nourish civic culture over three centuries.
