From Mrs. Gambel to Betsie

I always wanted to be a teacher, so it was no surprise that my first job was in education. After 15 years of teaching literature to eighth-grade girls at the Academy of the Sacred Heart, my career transitioned to public relations. It was a natural flow, applying the skills I had honed in academia to a new profession.

Similarities abound: communication, planning, evaluation, organization, creativity, role modeling and, of course, passion. The best compliment is when former students reconnect with me, whether through business or socially, and express how much I influenced them. Students then, colleagues and friends now.
