This month, Jefferson Performing Arts invites audiences to experience a cherished New Orleans story filled with humor, heart, and lifelong friendship. “Cherries Jubilee,” a homegrown comedy written by local playwrights Joyce Pulitzer, Harriet Nelson, Lynne Goldman and Marcy Nathan, runs May 8-17 at the Westwego Performing Arts Theatre.
Blending sharp wit with emotional depth, the story reflects how female relationships grow stronger as life becomes more complicated.
Originally staged at Southern Rep Theatre in the early 2000s, Cherries Jubilee quickly became a local sensation, extending far beyond its initial run due to overwhelming audience demand.
Tickets available at jpas.org/performance/cherries-jubilee/.
