In ‘Once’ at Le Petit Theatre, the cast and live band are one and the same

From the very first note, “Once” draws you in and never lets go. This is the only show to have music that won an Oscar, a Grammy and a Tony, and it’s coming to the Le Petit stage.

On the streets of Dublin, an Irish musician and a Czech immigrant are drawn together by their shared love of music. Their friendship and collaboration quickly evolve into a powerful but complicated love story. For musicals, the live orchestra is usually tucked away in the orchestra pit. For “Once,” the actors onstage are also the musicians.
