If you are addicted to your phone, start eliminating distracting emails, apps and contacts. A recent article in The Atlantic calls this process Appstinence, offering helpful tips:
• Decrease – Veer away from social; let your favorites know you prefer text or phone.
• Deactivate – Unfollow non-essential accounts; turn off pesky notifications.
• Delete – Eliminate the unimportant, creating more time for real relationships and experiences
• Downgrade – Consider a phone without bells and whistles. While extreme, if serious about purging, give it a try.
• Depart – Appstinence is an arduous process. The benefits? Immersing yourself in the real world, more fulfilled.
