While certainly no volcanologist, I have surprisingly visited multiple volcanoes across three continents over the last few months. The first was in Ecuador, where we swam between volcanic fissures and dined on a lava bed. Between mainland Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands there are 105 volcanoes, earning the nickname “Valley of the Volcanoes.”
Next was in Arizona, where many report mystical and healing powers of energy vortexes near ancient volcanic sites. Finally, Stromboli, an Aeolian island near Sicily, continuously erupting for thousands of years. Nicknamed the “Lighthouse of the Mediterranean,” it beckons boaters from all around. The wonders of nature!
