America at 250: a legacy of freedom and stewardship

by The 100 Companies

As the United States proudly marks its 250th anniversary, its history is brief when measured against historic civilizations whose stories span thousands of years.

Yet America’s story is distinctive. Settlers sought religious freedom, self-government and new beginnings. The nation that emerged was a constitutional republic, protected by separation of powers. America has sought to balance self-government with the rule of law, preserving freedom at home while respecting the sovereignty of other nations.

For the next 250 years, our responsibility is one of stewardship: preserving constitutional freedoms and democratic institutions, as well as protecting natural resources and opportunities entrusted to us.
