As we celebrate Veterans Day, we also celebrate a new organization in Greater New Orleans. With nearly 15,000 military veterans living in the Crescent City, the newly formed New Orleans Veterans Council was created to bring veterans together for volunteer service to generate a positive impact on the community.
An initial project on Memorial Day saw Veterans Council members and volunteers assemble to restore a 9th Ward home for one of their own, and the group promises similar projects to come.
With established impact goals, the council’s leaders are bringing their vision to life less than a year into existence.
