The 1970 lineup also included performers who are still active today, and some of them will even be performing at this year’s 50th anniversary event. They include: Ellis Marsalis, Germaine Bazzle, Clarence “Frogman” Henry, James Rivers, The Zion Harmonizers, The Meters, Lars Edegran and Johnny Vidacovich.

Tune in for coverage of Jazz Fest on WWL & WUPL, and plan your trip to the fest by consulting the complete festival lineup.
