Actor and philanthropist Danny Glover joined this year’s Bayou Soul Youth Literary Conference (founded by Clarence Nero) alongside actor Lance Gross (“House of Payne”), reality star Toya Wright (“T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle”), actor Lamman Rucker (“Greenleaf”) and celebrity publicist Love Logan at Baton Rouge Community College.
On Tuesday, July 2, hundreds of high school and college students from New Orleans, Baton Rouge and surrounding parishes attended empowerment seminars, took master classes in the entertainment industry/arts and crafts and participated in an essay contest where students competed for cash prizes and awards. The theme was “Empowering Young Voices.”
