The Sazerac House opened Oct. 2 on Canal Street. Designed by Gallagher & Associates, this multistory establishment creates an interactive, multisensory experience. It’s bound to become one of the city’s greatest museum attractions, doubling as an event venue.
History of the first cocktail goes back to the 1800s, when Antoine Peychaud invented the Sazerac using house-made bitters in his New Orleans shop. The grand opening kicked off with commemoration of the Sazerac’s origin, launching the Peychaud’s Bitters bottling line. Guests got first looks at brand showrooms and the Sazerac Rye distillery exhibit.
