New Orleans & Company and its partners are working to boost summer business with major events. One highlight: The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the world’s leading Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) organization, announced that UFC 318 will take place at the Smoothie King Center on Saturday, July 19.
Louisiana native and former interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Poirier will face current UFC “BMF” champion Max Holloway in the main event.
This will be the first time that the UFC will host a championship event in New Orleans, and it will attract thousands of fans and journalists as well as a global pay-per-view audience.
