The New Orleans Film Society exists to nurture the voices of filmmakers and stoke a love of film among audiences. It was never more apparent than the night of the New Orleans Film Festival premier of “BLUE: The Life and Art of George Rodrigue.”
A star-studded line of celebs featured in “BLUE” attended the documentary premiere, which portrays Rodrigue’s journey from his exploration of art for the first time as a bedridden boy to his rise to fame, painting South Louisiana landscapes and later the famed Blue Dog. Through the film, we see that Rodrigue was a true visionary artist.
