From the 19th century into the 21st century, The Times-Picayune Doll and Toy Fund has helped make the holiday season merry for children from struggling families throughout the New Orleans area.
Now in its 124th year, the fund brings an early Christmas to lots of families in need. Since 1896, donations from thousands of benefactors have made this generous program possible by enabling organizers to buy new toys for thousands of local children.
This year’s toy giveaway, co-sponsored by WWL-TV and Fidelity Bank, happens Dec. 21, but you can donate today by visiting here. All contributions are tax deductible.
