Catholic Charities celebrates National Foster Care Month

Foster parents

May is National Foster Care Month, a month set aside to recognize foster parents and members of the community who help the more than 430,000 children and youth in foster care in the United States.

Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans’ Therapeutic Family Services program matches children with moderate to severe emotional, behavioral or developmental challenges and medically fragile children with families who provide specialized foster care.

Last year, 25 children in need received over 4,700 days of specialized care. Visit www.ccano.org/tfs to learn more about the program or how to become a foster parent.
