In celebration of summer, we present Camp Abbey.
Camp Abbey was originally opened in 1960 as a Catholic summer camp for children. It closed in 2006, and in 2010, the Archdiocese of New Orleans leased the property and undertook a $4.1 million renovation of the facility, making it a place where young people can develop their relationship with Jesus, the Church and each other through retreats and a summer camp program.
Summer at Camp Abbey for boys in June and girls in July is a summer camp program combining the best traditions with new activities and enhanced Catholic spirituality.
