Making memories as a remote grandmother

by The 100 Companies

While I enjoy hearing my friends’ joyful stories of playdates with their NOLA grandchildren, I feel wistful at times, as my four are in Pennsylvania and South Carolina.

I have come to appreciate that being a remote grandmother is just different, and that I can nurture heartfelt relationships from afar. Spending summer days with Bets at Pass Christian has become a treasured tradition. Fishing, crabbing, dolphin watching, sailing and boating to Ship and Cat Islands, swimming in the Gulf, kite flying, beachcombing, and feeding Cheetos to seagulls are memories that I hope they will always cherish. I know I will.
