Second Harvest Food Bank, in partnership with the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, announces plans to open its new warehouse in the Bayou region, which will significantly increase the organization’s capacity to serve individuals and families facing hunger in the Bayou.
The 17,000-square-foot warehouse, located at 223 South Hollywood Road in Houma, will efficiently store and distribute an even greater volume of fresh food and pantry stables for the Terrebonne, Lafourche and St. Mary Parishes, as well as Grand Isle.
In a later phase, the warehouse will boast a 3,400-square-foot community kitchen with the capacity to produce up to 3,000 meals daily.
