One of the reasons Yasmine Welch became a member of Geaux Far Louisiana is because she has a passion for infant mental health.
Welch works with a program where nurses are case managers for at-risk pregnant women in Louisiana. If babies are cared for in a safe, nurturing environment, their brains will grow healthily. Challenges during pregnancy can affect a baby’s brain development, which can have lifelong effects.
Welch shares her interest in working with Geaux Far comes from her own positive childhood experiences and she has a specialty in infant mental health and works with babies, children and parents.
