Experience Ancient Ireland

by

Visiting the prehistoric Newgrange in County Meath, Ireland, requires traveling down a long, narrow and dimly lit passageway to a chamber of altars and carvings, dating to 3,200 BC. While Newgrange is believed to have religious and ceremonial importance, its original purpose is unknown.

Once a year, a beam of light shines into the main passageway, illuminating the chamber as the sun rises during the winter solstice. But you must win a lottery to experience it.

Last year, 60 lucky winners were selected from 32,000+ entries vying to visit during winter solstice. The 2017 lottery is now open.
