Ochsner’s Flight Care Team Helps Patients and Hospitals After Hurricanes

Ochsner Health System’s Flight Care Team is bringing aid to areas impacted by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. A dozen team members, which consist of specially trained Critical Care Registered Nurses and Paramedics, with helicopter and medical teams, brought support to Texas, Florida and the Virgin Islands during and after the storms.

The assistance to those communities impacted by recent storms includes more than 1,000 mission support flights and transportation of medical supplies, medical staff and over 250 critically ill patients, including neonatal intensive care unit patients. Ochsner’s Flight Care Team is continuing to support neighboring communities as recovery continues.
