One of my favorite anthologies is Marlo Thomas’ “Free to Be You and Me,” a compilation of lessons of inclusiveness. This election, friends are unfriending friends on Facebook because of politics, and intolerance overtakes conversations. When did we begin to escalate conversations into arguments?
For me, the owner of a PR firm, fervent involvement in this election takes consideration. One must remain respectful, acknowledging that everyone has a right to his or her own opinion.
Are we really free to be you and me? Yes, and no. Don’t compromise your beliefs but learn to live harmoniously with “the other side.”
