I watched the recent announcement of our new city administration smiling at the familiar faces tapped to work alongside Mayor-elect Helena Moreno. Chief of Staff Kevin Ferguson and CAO Joe Giarrusso were rising stars at the Young Leadership Council more than a decade ago and now they prepare to guide New Orleans toward a brighter future.
Aimee McCarron, who followed in their footsteps at YLC, now represents District A as a newly elected councilmember. Seeing the young leaders of yesterday become the trusted and positive leaders of today fills me with pride and hope for the path they are forging.
