Youth Rebuilding New Orleans

In the 13 years since Hurricane Katrina, Youth Rebuilding New Orleans (YRNO) has grown from a committed group of high schoolers seeking to rebuild NOLA into an established job training organization offering a premier volunteer opportunity for youths and adults around the world.

With help from volunteers, YRNO has rebuilt 18 previously blighted homes around the city while employing 241 local youths. The homes are sold to educators at 80% market value, addressing youth unemployment, blight and affordable housing.

YRNO’s youth programs teach home renovation and carpentry, in addition to life skills including finance, investing, mental health and sex education.
