Brian Sands honored as AFP’s Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser

Brian Sands is the honoree for Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser. He is a dedicated advocate for the youth served at Covenant House New Orleans.

Sands has raised over $192,000 for Covenant House through the Crescent City Classic Run For It Program, and has been the top fundraiser for the last eight years.

He is an award-winning playwright and the Theater/Performing Arts critic for Ambush Magazine, the oldest LGBTQ publication in the Gulf South. Last year, Sands created The Carol Sutton/Sherri Marina Memorial Grant to support local, equitable, diverse and inclusive theatrical productions which feature substantial roles for Actors of Color.
