The recent Ellevate Louisiana Legislative Leadership Conference brought together statewide civic, business, political and nonprofit leaders to educate them on the challenges impacting our state.
Founded in 2020 by Julie Stokes, Ellevate focuses on women working in a nonpartisan way to advocate solutions for a better Louisiana. For me, the most remarkable part of the day was the networking – meeting people from across the state and recognizing that regardless of political affiliation, profession or even age, we share more in common than not.
That commonality, we hope, will encourage us to approach issues and solutions as moderates rather than extremists.
