Satchmo SummerFest returns to the New Orleans Jazz Museum at the Old U.S. Mint August 6-7, honoring the life, legacy and music of New Orleans’ native son, Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong.
The annual festival takes place around Armstrong’s Aug. 4 birthday. It offers a robust mix of live musical performances, Louisiana culinary tastes and interactive education.
The Satchmo Legacy Stage showcases seminars and discussions from an array of acclaimed speakers, jazz scholars and people who knew and worked with Armstrong.
Admission is $7, free for children 12 and under, and includes access to the jazz museum’s collections and exhibits.
