Experiencing an earthquake

by The 100 Companies

As New Orleanians, we grow up with hurricanes, knowing how to prepare, fortunately with advance warning. Not so much with earthquakes.

A friend and I were in Cabo San Lucas this month when a violent rattling, shaking and swaying woke us from our top floor room in panic. The earthquake lasted about 15 seconds (apparently long) and registered 4.8 on the Richter scale. The memory of that night haunts us, several aftershocks bold reminders of our first earthquake. Thankfully there was no damage.

We concurred that given the choice, forewarning with hurricanes is preferable to the surprise attacks of earthquakes.
