Businesses, residents show gratitude for those who serve

During Carnival, officers with the New Orleans Police Department work long and hectic 16-hour shifts ensuring the safety of revelers. With limited breaks, many officers go without hot meals the entire shift – that is, until local restaurants and residents stepped in with help from the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation.

In the French Quarter, part of NOPD’s 8th District, businesses came together to provide hot meals and healthy snacks for the officers working 12 days of parades.

The Historic New Orleans Collection was proud to help this year by providing a catered meal from Dickie Brennan Catering.
