The start of spring

Spring is upon us, and that means lots of activities in the New Orleans area, from French Quarter Fest and Jazz Fest to Easter Sunday and the start of hurricane season.

Spring begins this year on Tuesday, March 20, at 4:58 p.m. The Climate Prediction Center’s forecast for the remainder of March calls for near-average temperatures and above-average precipitation for the Southeast U.S., including New Orleans.

The season of spring brings warmer weather – April starts with average highs in the middle 70s for New Orleans, and May begins with average highs in the low 80s.
