Syrita Steib founded Operation Restoration in 2016 out of necessity, giving a voice to women and girls impacted by incarceration. As the nonprofit’s founder, president and CEO, Syrita has emerged nationally as a leader for social justice and reentry.

Through her visionary leadership, Operation Restoration is a model for advocacy, social services and empowerment. Based on her lived experience, Syrita knows the importance of a strong support system. The organization offers education, clothing, social services, employment, transportation and housing resources. Among those are the accredited College-in-Prison program offered in partnership with Tulane University and the innovative Lab Assistant training program.
