When we hear “football,” we think Saints. But New Orleanian Rob Couhig thinks of another football team: The Wycombe Wanderers, his British soccer team that is causing unmatched excitement in the UK.
This past weekend, the Wycombe Wanderers were in the playoffs at Wembley, quite an accomplishment for a “Ted Lasso” type team, especially one with an American chairman. In anticipation of the championship game, Couhig labeled this the greatest moment in Wycombe history. Signifying fans worldwide, international flags waved proudly in support of the underdogs.
Although losing the playoffs 2-0, the Wycombe Wanderers earned a victory with fans.
