WYES legend Peggy Scott Laborde awarded Lifetime Achievement Award

by The 100 Companies

For more than 40 years, she’s chronicled the culture and history of her hometown and this past weekend WYES senior producer/host Peggy Scott Laborde received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Press Club of New Orleans.

For 39 years, her weekly series “Steppin’ Out” has spotlighted the arts and entertainment scene and her popular documentaries (nearly 40 and counting) have earned her an Emmy, among other honors. As TV Guide wrote, “What Ken Burns was to the Civil War, Peggy Scott Laborde is to New Orleans – the unofficial TV-chronicler-in-chief.” Join WYES in congratulating this broadcasting legend by emailing plaborde@wyes.org.
