Downtown New Orleans: What’s about to change?

Duncan Park New Orleans

Over the past ten years, the number of people living in downtown New Orleans has doubled, leading to higher demand for residential attractions.

Kurt Weigle, President & CEO of the Downtown Development District, said the organization has received several requests for more parks and open space. One of the DDD’s most prominent current projects is the renovation of Duncan Plaza. The new “Duncan Park” is expected to become a world-class attraction, as it will be the venue for 250 events each year, both big and small.

Development of new shelters and treatment centers are also in the works for downtown.
