WWL Louisiana captures 6 Suncoast Regional Emmy® Awards including Overall Excellence

The awards were for Overall Excellence, Morning Newscast (Kim Hardeman-Bayonne), News Feature (Devin Bartolotta and Whitney Hill for “Look at this F-N Street’), Medical Story (Meg Farris and Ricknise Riggins for “Thumbs Up” on a 3-D printed artificial thumb), Sports Story (Katie Moore for her “Ida Strikes” feature on a bowling alley wiped away by Hurricane Ida) and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (Charisse Gibson and Ricknise Riggins for “Follow the Line”). Earlier this month, WWL Louisiana captured six Suncoast Regional Emmy® Awards – the most of any station in the New Orleans market. The Suncoast region includes the entire state of Florida; Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles and New Orleans, Louisiana; Mobile, Alabama; Thomasville, Georgia and Puerto Rico.

The six awards were in a wide diversity of topics and specialties, representing some of the best work within our region (please see the caption to view the names of the award winners):
