This May, New Orleans recognized National Travel and Tourism Week, and like most celebrations in this city, it was cause for a parade.
On May 9, staff from The Historic New Orleans Collection joined employees from many other businesses to march the streets of the French Quarter in a fashion befitting this multi-billion-dollar industry.
Complete with floats, brass bands, roller girls, stilt-walkers and plenty of costumes, the colorful procession highlighted the contributions of the tens of thousands of locals working in the tourism industry, as well as the millions of guests who visit our city every year.
