Two meteor showers are coming up this spring. The Lyrid meteor shower peaks before dawn on April 23. This modest shower can show 10-20 meteors per hour.
The more impressive Eta Aquarids peaks before dawn on May 6. You can see up to 20-60 meteors with this one. Viewing for the Eta Aquarids this year could be quite good since there will be a new moon. To see the meteors, go outside and look up at the night sky a couple of hours before dawn.
Meteor showers can be best viewed in a spot away from city lights.
