Recently I attended two events that, while unrelated, carried a similar message: Take care of those less fortunate.
At the Volunteers of America’s breakfast, President/CEO Voris Vigee explained, “We need you because they need us.” VOA services include adoption, veterans, behavioral health and housing.
The other event was the memorial mass for Pope Francis at St. Louis Cathedral. Archbishop Aymond spoke of this humble Pope, who often asked, “Pray for me.”
His legacy will be his dedication to caring for the unfortunate, the needy, the marginalized. His dying wish was for peace in the world and fellowship among all people.
