The narrow passage of the Big Beautiful Bill raises concerns for many about how our country treats the less fortunate. A recent Gospel (Luke 10:25-37) is timely. What does it mean to be a good Samaritan?
• Identify with the feelings of others. Empathy guides how we can effectively help.
• Make yourself available by putting aside your own needs to bolster others. What is going on in their lives? Listen and act.
• Use your time, talent and treasures to help the less fortunate. Share your gifts.
• Be a good and selfless neighbor, for “love isn’t love until it is given away.”
