Negotiating is the “neutral ground” of discourse and ideas. It’s where we metaphorically meet to find common ground and move forward. Because of this, effective negotiating lets us achieve and maintain successful business relationships.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines negotiating as the ability to “arrange for or bring about [a resolution] through conference, discussion and compromise.” This give-and-take leaves both parties satisfied and ready to conduct future business.
Successful negotiating leads to successful business through:
• Building relationships
• Delivering lasting solutions
• Minimizing future conflicts
Using a sound strategy, mindful negotiation can propel everyone’s individual business goals for mutual benefit.
